Four years ago a tragedy made Jackson Weldon turn his back on life. He wanted nothing more than doing a gig with his guitar every now and then to put a sandwich on his plate and gas in his tank. But a few dates with Nan Miller several months ago had him finally wanting something more. Her in his bed. Only she walked before that happened and his hunger for her alone has grown until he can't think of anything but her.
Nan has lived her life by a plan and she isn't about to mess it up by getting involved with a man going nowhere. That's why she walked out on Jackson, seventy one days ago. Only, she can't get him out of her mind or escape him in her dreams, night or day. So when he comes riding in on his Harley again, she wonders if she should take him up on his offer for an uninhibited weekend. But their no strings ride leads them both to an end that changes everything they ever believed they wanted or deserved out of life.

Lightning briefly illuminated the strong curve of his stubble-rough jaw, devilish smile, and raven's wing hair whipping in the wind. Damn, the man had no right to look so sexy in the middle of hell. He stripped off his black leather jacket, pushed her umbrella aside, and leaned in close.
“You bait a nice hook, sugar.”
“You. You Peeping Tom!” Her search for something sophisticated and deadly to say fizzled as ridiculous.
“Careful. You're giving me ideas for a new profession.”
She didn't have a chance to reply before his leather jacket descended over her head and his strong arm encircled her.
“Tell me how sorry I am later, sugar.” He plucked the inverted umbrella from her, popped it back right, and held it before them as he propelled them toward the back door of the yacht club, not the least daunted by the storm's fury. But then, Nan didn't think much got past Jackson's thick wall. She gritted her teeth, irritated. Both the timing of Jackson's appearance and the man were too welcome for her peace of mind.
She tingled from the heat of his arm about her, the feel of his lean, hard body next to her, and the tangy scent of musk and leather enveloping her.
“Here we go.” He hustled her into a lit hallway.
Anxious to rid herself of his scent, she slid his coat off. Cool air assaulted, making her too aware of the heat from his body behind her, touching her, like he'd said on the phone.
Can't you feel me? I'm right up against you. Feel the heat? My hands on you…my mouth.
She shivered. The creamy watered silk walls, crown molding, and plush carpet contrasted sharply with her soggy, bedraggled state and she turned to face him, feeling like a swamp rat. He'd moved closer and her chest landed smack up against his hot, very male body.
“Where are we?” Drawing back, she teetered, dropping his coat.
“Backstage of the ballroom and just where we need to be." He grinned and settled his hands on her hips. When he spoke, his deep voice rumbled right to her core and set off a series of delicious quakes. "It's been a while, sugar. A long while. You hung up too soon last week. We didnt get to the good part.”
Nan tried to stop the quakes of desire from spreading by clenching her stomach muscles. It didn't help. Jackson let his shoulders rest on the door behind him and drew her between his jeans-clad, booted legs. She didn't have to look to know how his jeans fit or how his leather boots gleamed. Not a thing about his dark Irish looks and southern bad boy manners had changed.
“Yes, a long while,” she whispered past the lump in her throat. A droplet of water ran down her cheek, dripped onto her breastbone, and slithered between her breasts. Jackson's gaze followed its path, heated, then lingered. Nan looked down. Her halter-top gown lay plastered to her body like skin, the wet silk clearly defining the rise of her breasts and nipples.

I purchased this book after I read the first one in the series (Wild Irish). I met and was intrigued by Jackson and Nan in Wild Irish - so glad they are the focus here. I fell in love with not only the main two characters but also the whole Weldon family - the brothers interactions are just so perfect! I became invested in the characters, their history...and the love scenes are as steamy as the climate! I'm so glad they got their HEA. I cannot wait to purchase the next book in the series. All in all just a really fun read.Product details

Smooth Irish Seduction A Southern Steam Novel Weldon Brothers Book 2 edition by Jennifer Saints Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
I down loaded this book as a promotional gift from in February 2013.
Book 2 in the series and if I could give it 10 out of 10 I would have. This book touched the heart on all the right levels. Excitement, danger, romance, and heated passion combined with a good plot made this a very enjoyable read. The author wrote it with compassion as you learn more about Nan and Jackson. I thought Jesse was a great guy but Jackson beat him for sure.
His struggles to lay the past aside was heartfelt and touching. Playing the guitar and sing, in my book a win receipt for any romantic hunk. Love the song Tears of Heaven and the way the author brought it into the plot gave you greater insight and understanding the depth of his hurt.
I loved that the Weldon family still play such an important role through out the book especially how she kept Jesse and Alexi's story in the mix, to learn that their love has come to the ultimate fulfillment.
The storm and weather leading to many of the entertaining scenes as the two main characters came together. Learning to trust, love and hope once again.
At the end, an excellent read.
I was excited to find the 'Weldon Brothers' series. I like reading books that have characters who get further developed in a different story line. Book 1 was filled with adventure, excitement and lots of great sex scenes, so I was really looking forward to reading book 2, finding out more about the older brother. In book 1, the author's writing was smooth, well-thought out and the story was interesting. Sadly, I found book 2 a little lacking in storyline, interest or chemistry. I thought that it just lacked a strong plot and resulting in a ho-hum read. I usually cheer for the couple and really hope they end up together. With this book, I was just waiting for it to end. Even the steamy sex scenes got boring to read after awhile, since it found their chemistry so lacking. I will still continue reading the series, since there are more brothers to learn about. Maybe this just wasn't her best novel, but I'll give the author more chances, since her Book 1 really took my breath away.
I read this book right after finishing Wild Irish. Loved this book as much as Wild Irish. This was Jackson's story. Jackson had lost his wife four years ago and didn't seem to have any plans in life other than just playing in his band and floating through life. Nan had a life plan and wanted someone who had goals. They had so much chemistry but they both didn't think it would work out long term. You just have to keep reading and reading. I couldn't stop until it was finished and then I was upset it was done. I now have to have a Weldon fix. I'm really looking forward to James and Jared's stories. Hopefully Ms. Saints will write these quickly. I still have her other books to read. She writes under Jennifer St. Giles and J.L. Saint as well.
What a difference a sequel makes! I read the first book in the Weldon Series, "Wild Irish" and really didn't care for it that much. I'm far from being a prude so it wasn't the erotic content that colored my opinion. The plot was so flimsy that a forceful exhale would have knocked it to the ground. I felt like author Jennifer Saints regurgitated every erotic scene she had ever imagined in her lifetime and then called it a book. It took me months to work up the enthusiasm to read the second book in the series "Smooth Irish" and boy, am I glad I did.
"Smooth Irish" is the story of Jackson Weldon and Nan Miller, the older brother and best friend of "Wild Irish's" hero and heroine Jesse and Alexi respectively. It's not necessary to read "Wild Irish" in order to understand what happens in "Smooth Irish." This book stands on its own quite well.
Unlike "Wild Irish," Ms. Saints builds the sexual tension between Jackson and Nan rather than have them succumb early and mate like rabbits for the rest of the book. Jackson's and Nan's personalities and lives are polar opposites. Jackson is content to drift through life without a plan or commitments. Nan feels her life is wasted unless she's striving to achieve a goal. Nan has even made a list of the requirements for the perfect man and Jackson doesn't fit the bill except for the intense sexual attraction she feels towards him.
Nan and Jackson dated for a short period of time after they met at Jesse and Alexi's wedding. Although Nan broke things off when it became clear Jackson was only interested in a sexual relationship, she can't stop thinking about him. She's reluctant to act on the attraction and exorcises her sexual demons by keeping a diary of the fantasies she has involving Jackson. The diary entries are "bodice rippers," but entertaining nonetheless. Jackson's reaction upon discovering the book of fantasies was delightful in many ways. He has the reaction one would expect from a guy, but he also praises Nan for how well written and emotionally engaging they are.
What I enjoyed most about this book was watching Nan and Jackson evolve as individuals and as a couple. Nan learned to become more laid back and Jackson realized structure and order hold a certain appeal.
Overall, I heartily recommend "Smooth Irish." I'm so glad I gave this author another try.
